Somali PM Visits Kenya

The Somali Prime Minister arrived in Mombasa, Kenya’s coastal city, on Tuesday to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta. 

Raychelle Omamo, Kenya’s foreign minister, was at Mombasa’s Moi International Airport to receive Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble. 

The Somali premier was accompanied by the country’s foreign minister, defense minister, deputy information minister, and other government officials for the three-day visit.

The two leaders are scheduled to discuss ways to improve relations between their countries.

“Our travel to Kenya and Kenya’s foreign minister visit to Somalia signifies the importance of improving diplomatic relations and strengthening the two countries’ relations which include the movement of people, good neighborliness,” said Mohamed Abdirizak, Somali foreign affairs minister.

The Somali government officials’ visit comes two days after Kenya’s foreign minister, Omamo, visited Mogadishu on Sunday to discuss diplomatic and trade matters.

Roble and his delegation will travel to Nairobi on Wednesday to visit the Somali embassy and meet Somali citizens living in Kenya.
