The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has completed a 17-day eye treatment project at Mogadishu’s De Martino Public Hospital.

In collaboration with Somalia’s Federal Ministry of Health, the Somali Red Crescent Society (SRCS), and the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Somalia, the organization treated over 500 patients with eye diseases, with 82 receiving surgery.

According to the Qatari agency, 226 lab examinations were performed, 400 patients were given prescription drugs, and 223 people over the age of 40 were given eyeglasses.

The aid organization rehabilitated the hospital’s eye clinic and trained five local doctors to continue treating patients with vision problems.
